The Basics

I want to start off by giving a few basic tips:

*Subscribe to your local newspaper, at least Sundays only.  Most coupons will be found in the Sunday's paper.  If you do not want to subscribe, you can always pick up the newspaper from your local Dollar Tree.

*Cut out the coupons for the items that you may use or may want to use or try in the future.  It will either be on sale currently or in the near future.  

*Get a coupon holder to store your coupons in.  It makes it a lot easier to find them when you are in the store.  You can purchase one of these from the Dollar Tree, as well.

*Shop the weekly ads.  Most of the items on sale for the week has a coupon that is in the Sunday newspaper currently or the week before.  

*Sign up for online coupons and reward cards/clubs.  Most signups are free and offer a

*Know the store's coupon policy.  You can find most store's coupon policies online, if not visit the customer service desk for additional information.

*Most items have a sale cycle.  For example,  the best deals on toiletries like toilet paper and paper towels are at the beginning of the month.  Once you get in to it,  you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
